Me:”Hey Lani come and watch this on TV, we have a new Prime Minister”

Lani:”Oh how come”

Me:”Well this morning someone else got voted in”

Lani:”Oh who by?” (we have been talking about democracies and how everyone gets to vote for the leader of the country)

Me:” Well we didn’t get to vote only the people in the Labour party voted, it happened quickly”

Lani:”Why”

Me:”Um… well the people in the Labour party decided he wasn’t popular enough”

Lani:”Oh..then what happened”

Me: Well they all started talking behind his back, having secret meetings and then basically voted him out on twitter last night……”Um…never mind it’s not really that interesting, she is the first female Prime minister we’ve had though”

Lani: “Oh(already glazed over and walking lout of the room)

Me:”Sorry I bothered you”

lol! Will make understanding ‘democracy’ that little bit harder perhaps? Maybe she was just disappointed at now not having the chance to be Aust’s first woman PM?

I feel a little disillusioned with our political systems today. Its not fair, because they didn’t ask me what I thought.

I know I’m a little depressed about the whole thing, it just seems mean and somehow dirty, I know I’m so naive. It kinda feels like Aust has been eternally cheated out of the opportunity to vote in our first female.

Oh how true! You are right we as a nation has been cheated….However politic’s in any area I know is always tainted and somewhat dirty. So much backstabing, I don’t belive a single one of them can say anyone they work with is really their friend. It is amasing what people will do in any area to step one more rung up the ladder. In saying that we do have to have some people brave enough to attempt to put some sort of order into the world we live in as I would hate to think of what it could be like if we didn’t have some sort of structure.
I wouldn’t be able to do it….Happy to leave it to someone else.

Yeah its a bit like can’t live with them REALLY wouldn’t want to be landed with their job if they weren’t here.
