Lilly’s nose is healing nicely, we had quite a few tears over the bandaid removal but other than that it hasn’t been bothering her. The wound has knit together well and maybe just maybe this one won’t scar, here’s hoping.  Do you see how close it is to her eye though, ahhh, horrible tingly shudders down my spine who knew raising kids would be this stressful.

Lilly however has been lapping up the extra attention. Whenever anyone asks her what happened to her nose she announces quite proudly “ Eli Spaded me!” then giggles and twirls around while I expand just a little on her story so the other person doesn’t get the wrong impression of my son.

The nose has had some negative effects though. Now if I quietly suggest a spot of gardening after lunch she immediately bristles and declares all firm and wide eyed “No, I will not do Gardening ever again because Gardening hurts”

So maybe some garden tool related therapy later in life. But honestly the whole episode seems to have delighted her more than anything and she wears her “Nose Scratch” as some sort of childhood badge of honour.

Its a very cool injury [especially now you know there is no lasting damage]!! I’m sure she’d be a big fan of no-dig gardens.

  2. Madeline says:

Ouch, ouch, ouch!! Hopefully her gardening fears will be overcome someday. But, a spade to the nose would definitely put a damper on anyone’s gardening enthusiasm.

  3. Kate says:

Ouch, poor little thing, but at least she is smiling.

  4. Ron says:

She looks like she is on the road to a full recovery with possibly only a little scare as a memory.

Oh whew, it doesn’t look as bad as I first thought now that it has healed a little (and isn’t bleeding). That first photo you posted was really stomach churning.

Do you have aloe vera in your garden? I’ve found that it has miraculous powers against sunburn, perhaps it might work on cuts as well?

It’s creepy how good the spam bots are getting o.O
