We’ve really been enjoying music lessons this week. Really we’ve just been enjoying making a lot of noise. Yesterday I did add a little order to their enthusiasm because that’s what music is all about really isn’t it? Ordered enthusiasm??

First off all I stuck on a little Rockin’ the Suburbs followed by a bit of Tea and Sympathy and just let them go for it.

Then we listened a little harder and tried to find the beat and tap, bang clap and holler along with it.

At this point I was going to introduce the concept of PLAY and REST but I really didn’t think the whole not play part was going to go down so well so I chose LOUD (f) and SOFT (p).

Mum and Dad bought the girls these cool little flash cards with the instruments for their birthdays. Which was so nice of them because I only had a vague idea of what I wanted and they went off and did all the research and shopping and we now have the most perfect music room in a box. The flash cards are great and the kids had a ball “conducting “ each other in turn.
