writting potoato lables

As part of our investigations into healthy food we decided to do a mini unit on food production and help grandma out with her veggie garden. We cleared a patch and under Grandmas direction and planted two different types of potatoes only Lilly insisted on writing out the labels so good luck to grandma figuring out which one is growing in each row.

I laughed when I saw the label 🙂 Its cute. I have recently realised that its good to record WHEN you plant the seeds/seedlings too because otherwise you don’t know when the 20 weeks it takes to grow is up!! I have learned this the hard way.

Another lesson that I have learned, is that plant based dishwashing liquid makes for terrible bubbles. Must be something about the structure of the plant bits in it?

Thanks for the advice I didn’t think of that.

Its especially true for root crops 🙂 I have some lovely beetroot and less lovely onions growing in my garden [ I didn’t know onions don’t like being planted near peas?] but I have no idea when they were planted or when they’ll be ready. I don’t know much abut gardening this is the first time that I’ve got this far, but I really want Addie to learn about vegies so I’m more motivated.

The bubbles thing I found out after trying to show my friends how smart I was that I could make bubble stuff. LOL. Pride comes before a faceplant!

Ha Ha Tabitha you make me laugh and as you are at least three types of veggies ahead of me I will look to you as the expert.
